SUNDANCE 2006: in between days
IN BETWEEN DAYS is about a young Korean immigrant who is dealing with the challenges of living in a new country, her first love and all the drama that comes from being a teenager. She loves a boy. This boy happens to be a close friend and if he loves her as well, he is too immature to either realize this or act on it, so it results in a rather slow game of will they, won’t they. Not much happens, but leads to a frustrating conclusion.
The crew on IN BETWEEN DAYS was four people and it was shot on the Panasonic 24P. If there was a prize for the smallest crew, this film would have surely received that honor, but… that would be the only one. This is not a good movie. It is a poor imitation of a great film about children, NOBODY KNOWS. This is boring, hand held (nauseatingly so) and had no real sense of direction. Watching this was about as interesting as reading the diary of a 13-year-old girl.
